Glastonbury

Glastonbury is an 80 acre wooded sanctuary in Northern Indiana, approximately 2 hours from Chicago, Il and one hour from South Bend, Indiana. Glastonbury has been named a United Plant Saver Botanical Sanctuary and is home to a diverse collection of herbs, many of them endangered species. It possesses a campground for guests with a bathhouse, screened pavilion and a large indoor space with kitchens and dormitory style sleeping for those who prefer not to camp. Weekends typically include a potluck feast on Saturday night with a campfire afterward for those who like to sit up and socialize. It is home to many wild animals and has nature trails through its woods, as well as numerous sacred sites, including a ritual maze, medicine wheel, a Qabalah garden, a Goetic circle and groves dedicated to both the divine masculine and divine feminine. Glastonbury hosts groups of school children, herbal students and a lively community of spiritual seekers who gather to explore various aspects of spirituality via the Sacred Steps Mystery School and seasonal gatherings at the Equinoxes and Summer Solstice. It also hosts various workshops in plant cultivation and will in the near future be hosting educational events for the creation of alternative energy using wind, geothermal and solar energy. Glastonbury has been a sanctuary for 24 years, and serves as a learning center to promote active cooperation and interaction with the spiritual forces of nature.

In addition to scheduled weekends supporting members can schedule their own retreats at Glastonbury by contacting the owner, Althea Northage-Orr, and requesting permission to use the campground facilities. This is generally acceptable unless a closed event is scheduled for the weekend in question. Members will be responsible for their own camping supplies, food and entertainment.
